Ekadashi Vrat – the most beneficial one

In Nepal and India, Ekādaśī is considered a day to cleanse the body, aid repair and rejuvenation and is usually observed by partial or complete fast. High protein and carbohydrate-containing foods such as beans and grains are not consumed by observant people during the fast as it is a day to cleanse the body

Ekadashi is a very powerful day to make progress in spirituality. During fasting days rice, whole wheat flour, pulses, cereal grains, onion, garlic etc are not eaten. Instead fruits, sabudana, makhana, milk and flours like singhare ka atta, kuttu ka atta, rajgira ka atta are consumed

By consuming food that is soft on the digestive system, the person keeping a fast gives the much-needed rest to the vital organs, thereby providing substantial time to every part of the body to rejuvenate. Fasting removes toxins from a person’s system and helps him or her de-stress

What is avoided?

The fast of ekadashi is kept on the eleventh day of the lunar day. … Those who observe the fasting of ekadashi, should abstain from consuming grains, vegetables, or cereals. Therefore, the answer to this question is that yes, one can drink tea in ekadashi fast

However, there is a reason why people avoid rice on this day. The Moon’s gravitational force causes high and low tides on the earth. It attracts the water bodies towards it thereby causing high tides. And it is said that the position of the Moon on Ekadashi Tithi is unfavourable to the human digestive system

During the fast of Devotthan Ekadashi, one is only allowed to have fruits and milk. Even those who do not fast refrain from onion, garlic, salt, non-veg and grains. A few special fruits that are consumed on this day include sugarcane, sugar beet and sweet potato

Which one is important?

Devshayani Ekadashi, is one of the most important days of the Hindu community and is auspicious for the devotees of Lord Vishnu
